nice rims, but now please switch to bodyworks... ;)

Hehe, I think not long time to start with the body. I just fix the technical first, I bought those new wheels because those old wheels are not good anymore. And today this is a everyday car, but maybe i start with the body in winter ;)

Hello again, long time since last time now;)

In august I got a new problem with a wheelbearing in back, could not understand the problem since it the bearing have went about 5/6000 km. But i see the trouble after i dismanteled the wheel hub.

So bought a new wheel hub and bearing

Have not got any problem after (yet:P)

Went to a car meet at the beginning of September.

(My all 3 cars is not in the picture, because we went home earlier.)

And after a few rounds on a racetrack. Started a metal sound from the engine compartment, almost like water pump noise.

After I got the car home again, I started to change the water pump. And got to see this

Not much clearance between those two wheels :S

I suspect that it was this that made the sound, it was a bit strange that the sound was gone after the engine got cooled down again...

Took also a small engine wash, before i mounted the new parts... ;)

Before

After

So now I have changed:
- All the small wheels
- Dynamo
- Waterpump
- Shockabsorber to the belt tensioner
- The bracket for ventilator + wheel
- And the Belt

Hi Sghm3!

Nice car's, you got!

That wheelbearing looks bad, have you got any clue what happend to it?

How is the 320 on the race track? :D

What springs do you use? Mine is although very "wobbly", but i think thats because it hase 276.000 km. Have to take the rear axle appart and do some overhauling...

You said you're going to chance the Shockabsorber to the belt tensioner...if your's is a 1995, you haven't got anyone. The Schockabsorber is "inside" the tensioner.

EDIT: Whoops, i see you got a 1993...you should also have the cast iron exhaust manifold...lucky you ;(

kindly regards,
David

PS: Is your's an Automatic? I got the one with the 5-Speed Manual Getracbox...the same one wich is in the BMW M3 :D It dose real fun to rush through turns, but the wobbly suspension is reducing the fun to much ;(
230E Bj.92 - dreifacher überschlag
250D Turbo Bj. 91 - Fährt jetzt in Frankreich

Hello STFighter
Actually I never got the chance to drive the car on the race track, because I let one of my friend go and maybe after 10 laps this noise started....

I drove this car, but this have a 2,3 8 v.

And my brother drove this to the meeting

But I have no idea about the weelhub. But my boss at work said it`s not have happen often, while he have worked wth MB (since 95/96). Maybe 2-3 times.... If I good remember what he said, it was all estate cars, not sedan or coupe...

I have 40/40 springs from H&R, but need change those hydrulic accumulators. My car starts beeing soft in back....

I actually got the 5 speed automatic gearbox, and I like the gearbox. I have drove same car and engine but with 4 speed automatic at work, and I think BIG different when give little throttle ;) It feels more heavier with 4 speed... But I would like to test with 5 speed manual gearbox :)
