Hallo Mercedes Freunde.
Ich bin ein neues Mitglied aus Norwegen. Ich spreche kein Deutsch, daher habe ich auch die Verwendung von Google übersetzen für mich. Bitte entschuldigen Sie mich, wenn die Sprache ist ein wenig seltsam, ist es wegen der automatischen Übersetzung.

Ich besitze ein W124 300CE (M103) 1989, mit 4-Stufen Automatik-Getriebe. Ich werde tun, einen Motor und Getriebe ändern in diesem Auto. Ich werde in ein 300 24V (M104) mit einem 5 Gang-Automatik Getriebe. Gehen Sie hierzu werde ich brauchen eine neue Kardangwelle. Wenn jemand ein, ich könnte daran interessiert sein, den Kauf!

I am a new member from Norway.

I own an W124 300CE (M103) 1989, with 4-speed automatic transmission. I'm going to do an engine and gearbox swap in this car. I will put in an 300-24V (M104) with a 5-speed automatic gearbox. To do this, I will need a new propshaft (Kardangwelle). If someone got one in hand, I'd be interested in buying this!
I would like to ask if some of you have done this kind of swap before?
Will I meet other difficulties, with the exception of the propshaft?
I know that the 5-gear is electrically operated in the new transmission.
Where can I take out electrical signals to control this?

I would be very grateful if someone would be able to give me some answers to my questions.

you might need to check the transmission ratio of the rear axle differential gear.

As the 24valve block deliveres some some more power than the 12v, all the brakes need to be checkes for getting the official approval as well the the radiator for keeping up with the increased heat dissipation.

While doing such an immense overhaul of nearly the complete powertrain it might be suitable to rework/replace some of the parts around:

engine mounts
gearbox mount
coupling discs including damper of the propshaft
checking / reworking diff gear, oil change at least
lower mounts/joints of front wheels
brakes (discs, fluid and pads)
power steering fluid
together with radiator: hoses and thermal switch, check of fans visco connector

oil change of aut/trans box should be done without discussion.

I have the original differential for 300 24v/with 5 speed automatic.
I'm going to do a paint job on the car as well, and I'm going to fit it with E500 brakes front and rear. All bushings and rods will be replaced. I'm going to check the undercarriage for rust and make it like new under. It's a good chance to do this, when the motor and gearbox is out of the car.

On a later stage, I will turbo charge my engine and i will then put inn an E500 differential as well

Is the radiator different for the 12v and 24v?
